I will be honest with you.
For a long time, I did not get crystals.
I did not understand why people kept them on their windowsills or carried them in their pockets or spoke about them with such quiet certainty. I believed in energy — deeply, completely, in a way that shaped everything I did — but crystals felt like a step too far. If it was an energy I could not feel or explain, I was not sure I believed in it.
And then, somewhere in the last year or so, something shifted.
I started to connect with crystals. Not in a dramatic way — no lightning bolt moment, no sudden conversion. Just a slow, growing sense that there was something here I had been too quick to dismiss.
What Crystals Actually Are
Before anything else, let us start with what they are — not what people project onto them, but what they actually are.
Crystals are formed over millions of years, deep within the earth, under extraordinary pressure and heat. They are not manufactured. They are not designed. They grow — slowly, structurally, in precise geometric patterns that are determined by their mineral composition. Every crystal of amethyst, every piece of rose quartz, every shard of clear quartz forms according to the same internal logic, the same molecular structure, repeated over and over across millions of years.
That is not nothing. That is, in the most literal sense, the earth making something with intention.
Whether or not you believe in the metaphysical properties of crystals, it is worth sitting with that for a moment. These are ancient things. Patient things. Things that were forming long before any of us arrived and will continue long after we are gone.
Why Do People Feel Something?
This is the question I kept coming back to. Because people do feel something — not all people, not always, but enough that it cannot simply be dismissed.
Here is what I have come to understand.
A crystal on its own is a crystal. Beautiful, ancient, structurally remarkable — but inert. What changes things is what surrounds it.
When a crystal is combined with intention — when it is placed alongside specific herbs chosen for their energy, infused with a particular scent, charged with a clear purpose — something happens. The crystal does not create that energy. But it holds it. It amplifies it. It becomes a vessel for everything that has been brought together around it.
This is what I began to see in my own practice. A crystal sitting on a shelf is one thing. A crystal that has been cleansed, charged and placed inside a candle made with specific botanicals and a specific intention — that is something else entirely. It has been given a role. And in my experience, it takes that role seriously.
Once charged and amplified — through the herbs, the scent, the ritual, everything that has been brought together to purify and focus its energy — a crystal becomes something you can carry. A talisman. A quiet, physical reminder of the intention you set, the energy you called in, the thing you are moving toward or releasing.
It does what needs to be done. Not loudly. Not dramatically. But steadily, in the way that ancient things tend to do.
The Crystals in the Blessed Collection
Every candle in the Blessed Collection is made with specific crystals chosen to support the intention of that candle. Here is what each one carries.
Amethyst
One of the most widely used crystals in spiritual practice, and for good reason. Amethyst is associated with calm, clarity and protection. It is a stone for the overactive mind — for the person who cannot switch off, who carries the weight of the day into the evening, who needs help arriving somewhere quieter. It supports meditation, deepens intuition and creates a sense of spiritual protection around the space it inhabits.
Rose Quartz
The stone of the heart. Rose quartz carries the energy of love in its broadest sense — not just romantic love, but self-compassion, gentleness, the willingness to receive care as well as give it. It is for the person who is hard on themselves. The one who gives everything to others and forgets to turn that same tenderness inward. Rose quartz is a reminder that you are worthy of the love you so freely offer.
Citrine
Bright, warm and energising, citrine is associated with joy, abundance and confidence. I think of it as the stone of yes — yes to possibility, yes to your own potential, yes to the life you are building. It carries solar energy, the kind that lifts rather than overwhelms, and it is particularly powerful when you are beginning something new or need to reconnect with your own sense of purpose.
Clear Quartz
Perhaps the most versatile crystal of all. Clear quartz is known as the master healer — not because it fixes everything, but because it amplifies whatever surrounds it. It magnifies intention, enhances the energy of other crystals and brings clarity to whatever is murky or uncertain. When you are not sure what you need, clear quartz is often the answer. It simply asks: what do you want to make clearer?
You Do Not Have to Believe in the Metaphysics
I want to say this plainly, because I think it matters.
You do not have to believe that crystals carry mystical properties for them to work for you. You do not have to subscribe to any particular spiritual framework or use language that does not feel like yours.
What you do need is intention. And a willingness to be present.
The crystal in your candle is not doing something to you. It is doing something with you — holding the intention you set, anchoring the energy you called in, giving your practice a physical, tangible point of focus. The belief is not in the stone. The belief is in yourself.
The crystal is just a beautiful, ancient reminder that you already have everything you need.
"You do not need to understand something fully to feel it working."
